Los Angeles Lakers head coach, Luke Walton, recently commented on his desire for the team to be unselfish.

With the start of training camp right around the corner for the Los Angeles Lakers, this will be a very important time for the Lakers to build chemistry and grow as a team. With a lot of new faces, the Lakers will need this time to get used to playing with each other.

One of the reasons for the success of the Lakers on offense last season was their ability to move the ball. The addition of Lonzo Ball at point guard really helped the Lakers on that end of the court, as his pass-first style of play became infectious.

When the Lakers had Ball healthy and were playing like this with the ball constantly moving, they were certainly at their best. With all of the new faces this season, Luke Walton is hoping that the Lakers do this season. Here’s what he recently said about the ball movement on Spectrum SportNet with text via LakersNation.com.

"“That’s when we’re going to be at our best. We have a lot of really good players. It can’t be, it won’t be, taking turns going 1-on-1; we like your matchup, we like that matchup. It’s going to be an attack in waves as a group, making plays for each other. When it’s appropriate, when the time’s appropriate, that’s when we’ll take advantage of what we feel are mismatches in our favor.”"

Even though there are a lot of new faces on the Lakers, many of those players are unselfish. Rajon Rondo and LeBron James in particular should only help the ball movement of the Lakers. Both players are excellent and willing passers.

With Walton coming from Golden State, he certainly likes to see the ball moving like they do with his former team. Even though the Lakers don’t quite have the talent that the Warriors do, all teams can move the ball well if they choose too. When the ball is moving it generally creates mismatches and easy looks.

As we head toward the regular season, we should get a feel of how the Lakers will look on the offensive end. Most likely, we should see the ball movement like we did last season.
