2. Brandon Ingram will make an All-NBA team

I told you this would have some bold takes!

While many of you may think this is a stretch, I can actually see this happening. Let’s look at a few things.

  • Ingram showed significant improvement from his rookie year to his sophomore year. He improved in every stat category you can think of, with exception to turnovers but that’s bound to happen with an increased offensive role. I can’t imagine we don’t see another year of improvement in his numbers and performance.
  • He has LeBron James as a teammate. We’ve all seen how LeBron makes other players around him better. Remember the contract the Lakers gave Timofey Mozgov after the 2015 NBA Finals? Dodged a bullet on that one. Thanks again, Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka.
  • “Look out. I think he’s next.” Lebron told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. Lebron has never played with a forward like Ingram his entire career and I believe both of them will thrive off each other’s abilities. I think Ingram is going to be spectacular when playing off the ball and the potential two-man game between these two freak athletes is something I am most excited to see.
  • It’s no secret that Ingram is a workhorse. It’s been noted by many within the organization that Ingram is always working. Combine that with arguably the hardest working athlete in the world in Lebron and we are destined to see improvement.

For the Lakers to be considered a legitimate threat in the West, and the entire league for that matter, they need another superstar with LeBron. I don’t see why Ingram can’t make the jump to be considered as one this season. Time will only tell.
