4. Can the Los Angeles Lakers rebound?

"Teams can’t run if they can’t finish the play on the defensive end with a rebound. Looking at the roster, it looks like the mission statement will be all hands on deck to grab rebounds. Small ball is the rage, but for this to work, guards have to be ready to rebound as well. Rajon Rondo, Kyle Kuzma and eventually Lonzo Ball (not playing tonight) will have to be disciplined enough to clean up the rebounds especially with the big guys sacrificing their bodies to block out."

Aftermath

Mentioned the numbers above, but short answer; no. JaVale McGee can be muscled down low. LeBron James had better wrap his mind around the concept that he will have to rebound…a lot.

Nikola Jokic just lowered his shoulder at times and just bodied up McGee when he made his moves. Mason Plumlee had his moments down low coming off the bench and Paul Millsap did not score well but he got five rebounds.

To wrap this up…how do you allow Monte Morris to come in off the bench and get six boards? He’s the backup point guard for Christ sakes! I get that the Lakers need to time to gel but rebounding is a choice.
