With the regular season here for the Los Angeles Lakers, here are four big questions for 2018-19.

Here we are, everyone. It’s mid-October and yes, the Los Angeles Dodgers are currently in the World Series hunt, but LA’s eyes will be on the Staples Center this week with the Los Angeles Lakers starting their 2018-19 campaign. Los Angeles tends to focus on the Lakers’ opening night every year, but even more so this year with the arrival of the King, LeBron James. The team will kick it all off on October 18th on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers. After that they’ll have their home opener this Saturday, the 20th against reigning MVP James Harden and the Houston Rockets.

LeBron James bringing his talents to the city of angels brings about many exciting aspects to the team. Luke Walton seems to be ready to bring another fast-paced offense to the table this year, maybe even playing faster than last year. Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, and Josh Hart also will look to build on their good rookie years by improving day-by-day behind LeBron. Brandon Ingram seems ready to become the clear second-best player on the team, and of course there will be plenty of funny moments throughout the season with Michael Beasley, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, and Rajon Rondo coming along for the ride.

It won’t be all fun and games throughout the season though, as adding LeBron James to your team elevates expectations. The Lakers aren’t necessarily being expected to win the championship in their first year with LeBron, but the playoffs have to be reached as LeBron hasn’t missed them since his second season in 2004-05 while the Lakers haven’t been there in five years, the longest streak in franchise history.

With the expectations, there’s many questions revolving around this team heading into this important season. I’ll discuss four of them here, starting with the biggest X’s and O’s question with this team heading into the opening game.
