The Los Angeles Lakers have gotten off to a 2-3 start. Here are some quick thoughts from the early going.

Well, this was not the presumed start to LeBron James‘ Los Angeles Lakers career to say the least. Although the King has had some exciting moments through the first five games and has given plenty for fans to cheer about to so far, this is not the start we expected. But honestly, if you have been watching the Lakers play this season, are you even slightly shocked by their record?

The defense has been nonexistent. At times, the players looked lost in their roles, and let’s not even get into #SpitGate. Even with the current winning streak, the Lake Show is on, there are some problems that must be addressed.

Also, I understand it’s very early and some of these things might not even matter come February but, for now, I have to get some of these concerns out in the open.

But real quick, my first prediction since the start of the season: Lakers vs Rockets in the Playoffs. It’s happening and it will be awesome.

Okay, now onto the three thoughts from the early going.

1. Free Throws

Are they really that difficult? 73 percent as a team isn’t going to cut it. Are they not working on these at practice?

Don’t get me wrong, I already love LeBron to the point where I don’t know if I can see myself getting angry at him for anything. Not like when I would yell at Kobe for jacking up crazy shots regardless if they went in or not. But when he missed those two free throws against the Spurs, I was a little upset.

This has to stop happening. We can’t be losing games because of free throws while trying to compete for the playoffs in the Western Conference. Those two things don’t coexist. Someone get Justin Timberlake to the Lakers practice facility ASAP.

Oh and another thing. Did it make everyone else’s heart so happy to see Lebron’s first home game win happen while Kobe was there?
