4. Thaddeus Young for Kentavious Caldwell Pope + Protected 1st Rounder

With Myles Turner recently signing a four-year, $72M contract extension, along with the acquisition of Domantas Sabonis in the Paul George trade, and the signing of Kyle O’Quinn earlier this offseason, the Pacers have a quality rotation of big man that Young may find himself on the outside looking in on.

Young is a great hustle player. An added 3-point shot could give the Lakers some much-needed spacing for LeBron James to operate. With his contract also set to expire at the end of this year, the Lakers will still be able to maintain that precious cap-space for the 2019 offseason.

KCP provides the Pacers with a solid backup shooting guard option to keep the load off of Victor Oladipo during the regular season. He is also a great defensive option to turn to against the smaller, quicker guards that Darren Collison might have trouble defending.

The salaries of KCP and Young match up as a straight swap, and the Pacers should look to acquire an asset for a player that probably won’t re-sign with them. Throwing in a protected first-rounder or two second-rounders alongside KCP as an extra incentive could get the deal done.
