Sunday night was a rough one for the Los Angeles Lakers are they were blown out by the Kawi Leonard-less Toronto Raptors.

Sunday night was not the Los Angeles Lakers night. Well, I can tell you this…this is going to be a long season! It’ll be interesting…but long nonetheless. The Los Angeles Lakers are turning into a Hollywood drama that should put every reality TV show out of business forever.

What’s even crazier is…this season is turning into a train wreck, but no one can turn away because everyone wants to see what happens next.

The Los Angeles Lakers made history against the Toronto Raptors last night. After a layup by Kyle Kuzma to start the game, the team set the record for the biggest deficit to start a game in team history. That’s in Los Angeles and Minneapolis.

The Toronto Raptors, without Kawhi Leonard, took the Lakers to the woodshed and led 42-17 after the first quarter. Again, the Lakers led 2-0. After that, the game was never in doubt as the Raptors beat the Lakers 121-107. The final score does not tell the true story of the night. This game was never close.

The Portland game may now be considered a distant memory based on the fact that the Lakers came out disinterested and had no energy. All week, the concern was about the Lakers blowing leads. In this game, they were just blown out.

Well, this a dubious record that LeBron James will have to live with for a while (more on him later…much more). This was not a good showing for the Lakers. This is an especially a bad time for Luke Walton, who got an earful from Magic Johnson for the progress of the team up until this point.

Despite the reports to the contrary that Luke Walton’s job is in jeopardy, Magic Johnson says that Luke Walton’s job is safe…

Now, pay attention to the caption “barring something drastic”! That’s theme of this postgame. This was stated BEFORE the game Sunday night. Setting a record for futility to start a game. Is that drastic enough? Let’s get to it…
