3. Point Guards circle the Lakers on the Calendar!

I have said this for weeks that the point guards, that being Rajon Rondo and Lonzo Ball, are very poor in defending opposing point guards…watch this first and then I’m going to make my point!

Watch what a ROOKIE is doing to the Lakers…in the fourth quarter!!!!

Yes, folks, it is true. Trae Young knocked down a 3-pointer in Lonzo Ball’s grill and looked into the crowd and pointed to the floor. After this happened Lonzo was taken out almost immediately.

Plays like this are why so many Lakers fans are frustrated with the point guard situation. Ball needs to be smart enough to know that Young takes this shot at least three times per game. Is it a bad shot…yep. That’s no excuse, get up on him!!!!

Rondo was no better…

Trae Young was allowed to dribble comfortably around to get into a rhythm to get his shot off against JaVale McGee. Nobody can expect that man to keep up with Young off the dribble. McGee gets left on an island while Young calmly shoots the three.

As you can see, Rondo is in no man’s land waiting for someone to pass the ball to him to take the ball up the court.

Trae Young outscored both point guards combined 20-10. Throw in Kent Bazemore‘s 21 points and the Lakers’ backcourt was dominated in this game.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Lance Stephenson both scored 11 points apiece. Forget the box score with these two, both players were watching in crunch time while Brandon Ingram was guarding Trae Young.

At this point, you remember Josh Hart was out there as well. Give Luke Walton credit, he is now playing people that will defend and play hard. If this keeps up, opposing guards will charter limos to get these two just to make sure they can get to the arena on time so they can get their numbers.

Remember this article…

It’s moot right now!
