Los Angeles Lakers: LeBron James admits to almost cracking

The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t have a great start to the season, and that apparently was wearing on LeBron James.

While the Los Angeles Lakers are getting into a bit of a groove now, the start to the season was not an easy one. When LeBron James signed with the Lakers, we knew that it wasn’t going to be instant success for the Lakers.

When James has switched teams in the past, the results haven’t always been great right away. Even when he teamed up with other superstars in Miami, the Heat didn’t get off to a strong start. Since the Lakers didn’t have another All-Star on the roster when James signed, it was hard to expect instant results.

Due to the slow start and constant pressure from the outside, James recent admitted that he was getting ready to crack. Recently, he spoke to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. Here’s what he had to say.

"‪“I haven’t changed anything outwardly, but you know me. You know how I am. I almost cracked [last week]. I had to sit back and remind myself, ‘[Expletive], you knew what you were getting yourself into,’” James told Yahoo Sports while laughing after Saturday’s win in Sacramento. “This process has been good for me. I just have to continue being patient.”"

While the start to the season did not go well, the Lakers are certainly playing better now. In their last five games, the Lakers have won four of them, and are now one game over .500. During that span, there was an awful performance against the Toronto Raptors, but the Lakers have responded well since then.

Recently, the Lakers were able to address one of their needs by signing Tyson Chandler. JaVale McGee has played very well this season, but the Lakers have struggled when he was off the court. With Chandler now on the team, the Lakers have two very strong defensive big men.

Even though it might not have been the start to the season that James wanted, the Lakers are playing much better basketball over the last week or so. On Wednesday night, James and the Lakers will be playing the Portland Trail Blazers for the third time already this season. With another win, the Lakers would move to 8-6 and would also be on a four-game winning streak.
