The Los Angeles Lakers just wrapped up their longest road trip of the season thus far. It was a three-game trip that had the Lakers pay their lone visit of the season to some Eastern Conference teams.

The Lakers started things off with a poor performance against the Orlando Magic, losing 130-117. They had a back-to-back set that finished the next night in Miami, where they had a much more successful evening.

On the back of LeBron James, the Lakers handled the Heat with relative ease. Los Angeles won that game 113-97 for one of their better all-around games of the season. The Lakers will head back home on a winning streak, as James helped dispose of his other former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, in the finale of the road trip.

The Lakers defeated the Cavaliers 109-105 in Quicken Loans Arena in a hard-fought victory. Cleveland came to play, as the crowd was energetic with the return of James. The current Cavaliers fed off that energy and pushed the Lakers to the brink. A late run, led by James, was the only thing that kept Cleveland from victory.

Los Angeles is now three games over the .500 mark for the first time since 2013, coincidentally, the last time the franchise qualified for the postseason.

Overall, the Lakers went 2-1 on the road trip, which is what you aim for. A clean sweep would have been nice, but picking up two victories away from the Staples Center is never a bad thing. Check out our takeaways from the Lakers’ three-game road trip.
