The Los Angeles Lakers were able to defeat Dwyane Wade in his final game against LeBron James. Here are three lessons from the win.

LeBron James vs. Dwyane Wade for the last time! Man, I’m not going to lie, I wanted overtime. I didn’t care who won the game. For the first time this season, I watched a Los Angeles Lakers game and almost forgot about the analysis and became a fan. The game started, well ugly, but had a Hollywood finish.

The Los Angeles Lakers continued a similar trend, riding a LeBron James tidal wave in the final minutes outlasting the Miami Heat 108-105. It seems that LeBron James will have the bragging rights during the wine-tasting trips after their careers are over.

LeBron James broke the 15-15 tie just missing a triple-double scoring 28 points, dishing out 12 assist and grabbing 9 rebounds. Dwyane Wade was scoreless in the first half but was effective with 6 assists. In the second half, he brought his bag of scoring tricks out dropping 15 after halftime. He ended up with a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists.

Both players found themselves guarding the other late as they both missed opportunities to either take the lead or finish the game off. They both missed. LeBron with a fadeaway going to his left at the free throw line and D-Wade missing a 3-point shot on the right-wing (I was so mad he missed) to potentially tie the game.

The game (…and the epic series between the two) ended with LeBron James guarding his closest friend in the NBA and player closest to his legacy, on the final possession.

The Lakers had to know that the Miami Heat was going to come out with a better performance after LeBron embarrassed them in their own gym a couple of weeks ago…

You all remember…LeBron James took the entire Heat organization on his own highlight reminisce program, reminding them of how things used to be. He ended up doing that to the tune of 51 points and sent the fans home with a calling card…

For whatever reason, the Lakers played down to their competition and were on the ropes 96-90 in the 4th quarter after a Justise Winslow 3 pointer. Then LeBron James turned things up a notch and bailed the Lakers out.

The Los Angeles Lakers are an iconic franchise for a reason. They have class and they appreciate greatness. Just listen to the crowd when Wade entered the game…

Then they honored him with a production piece during a timeout. Just press play and see how you treat future Hall of Famers…

This will be one of my favorite post game reports of the year.

Here’s my lessons from the game!
