The Los Angeles Lakers have received some good news on the injury front, as Rajon Rondo has been cleared to resume basketball activities.

After a ton of rumors surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers, the team received some good news on point guard, Rajon Rondo. Since November 14th, Rondo has been out with a broken hand, but it looks like his return could be happening soon.

After a setback with some swelling a few days ago, Rondo has been cleared to resume basketball activities according to Dave McMenamin.

Seeing Rondo cleared to resume basketball activities is certainly good news for the Lakers, as they can use him back. So far this season, Rondo is averaging 8.5 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game.

Without Rondo, the Lakers have had a winning record, but he obviously makes the team better as an important rotation player. The Lakers are currently on a four-game road trip, as they are working there way to the East Coast.

On Thursday, it was not a good start, as they lost to the Houston Rockets. According to the report by McMenamin, Rondo will not be re-joining the Lakers on the road trip. This puts a possible timetable for Rondo coming back on December 21st at home against the New Orleans Pelicans.

If Rondo doesn’t return against the Pelicans, we could be looking at a return on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors or a few days before against the Memphis Grizzlies. In what will be a big game for the Lakers on Christmas, having Rondo back would be an excellent Christmas gift for the team and fans.

Getting Rondo back will certainly be a welcomed sight for the Lakers. Without him, they haven’t had a true backup point guard for Lonzo Ball, as we have seen LeBron James have to take over more of the ball-handling. Hopefully, Rondo doesn’t suffer any setbacks and is able to return against the Pelicans on the 21st.
