Recent Lakers rumors are that Anthony Davis and LeBron James met for dinner after the game.

With the Los Angeles Lakers hosting the New Orleans Pelicans, there were plenty of Lakers rumors surrounding Anthony Davis.

Prior to the showdown, there was a lot of questions about who would be playing in the game. Both LeBron James and Davis were questionable, but ended up playing great games. In the Staples Center, the stars were certainly on display, and James and Lakers were able to edge the Pelicans out.

Possibly due to Davis being under the weather, he didn’t have as good of a fourth quarter as he did in the rest of the game.

After the game, it was reported by Yahoo Sports that James and Davis met for dinner. Here’s what Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports had to say.

"With the Pelicans staying overnight before traveling to Sacramento, James and Davis met up for a postgame dinner in Los Angeles, league sources told Yahoo Sports."

Seeing James and Davis meet up for dinner in Los Angeles after the game is pretty news-worthy. Prior to the game against Brooklyn, there were some comments made by James about wanting to play with Davis that were a bit blown out of proportion.

As one of the best players in the NBA, everyone should want to play with a player like Davis. However, while it was an honest response, the comments made by James caused quite a stir.

After a great battle on Friday night, with both players feeling under the weather, meeting up for dinner is certainly interesting. Davis is still under contract with the Pelicans, and as a top player in the league, they certainly don’t want to let him go.

However, Haynes also reported that Davis might want to leave the struggling Pelicans for Los Angeles.

"The Lakers are a legitimate threat to pry Davis from the Pelicans. And if that’s what he wants, as many believe, there really will be no stopping him."

For the Lakers, going after Davis would be a very tough decision to make. The Lakers have established a great young core of talent, and in order to get Davis, that could cost them nearly all of it.

As the season goes on, it will be interesting to see if Davis does ask out of New Orleans and if the Lakers are willing to meet what will be a very high price tag.
