4. Brandon Ingram
With the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the Lakers selected Brandon Ingram out of Duke. He has not yet lived up to expectations, but he has shown plenty of promise and flashes to get fans excited.
Ingram has a long way to reach his ceiling, but there are specific things that Ingram would benefit learning from Bryant. Ingram loves mid-range jump shows. Given his length, he is difficult to defend there. So, why not learn from the best?
There aren’t many players that were more dominant in the mid-range and post than Bryant. Ingram would benefit greatly from learning a thing or two from Bryant.
Ingram worked tirelessly on his game this offseason, and we have seen some of it pay off this season. Learning some footwork from Bryant would take Ingram’s game to another level, especially since he has more natural gifts, such as his length than Bryant did.
If Ingram is not yet comfortable stepping out to the 3-point line and expanding his range, he may as well look to perfect his mid-range game as much as possible. There wouldn’t be many better teachers for Ingram to learn from.
