Brandon Ingram

Aside from Lonzo, another player that Luke Walton called out after the blowout loss to the Timberwolves was Brandon Ingram. Ingram has had a hard time finding his groove this season, as he was suspended for a few games and then missed some more with injuries. It feels like Ingram and LeBron James have barely been on the court together this season, and that is something that the Lakers hope changes.

Like Lonzo, the Lakers are asking a lot of Ingram with James out. Due to the injuries, the Lakers need Ingram to score at least 20 points if they want to have any chance to win games. Ingram is certainly capable of being a 20-point scorer, but doing so consistently has been his issue.

In the seven games without James, Ingram has scored at least 20 points in four of them. However, not reaching the 20-point plateau in the other three games resulted in losses as expected.

Against the Mavericks, Ingram had his best game during the stretch without James, as he totaled 29 points on 12-for-21 shooting from the field. Those are exactly the type of numbers that the Lakers are looking for from Ingram with James out. As the Lakers continue to be without James, they need Ingram to be a 25-point per game player.
