Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Players who stepped up against Oklahoma City Thunder
By Nick Ziegler
– Lonzo Ball
After a really strong game against the Chicago Bulls, Lonzo Ball followed it up with another good game against the Thunder. In a tough matchup against Russell Westbrook, Ball held his own in the stats matchup. While Westbrook was nearly able to record a triple-double, Lonzo performed well with a strong game of his own.
In the win, Lonzo totaled 18 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds. Even though Ball filled up the stat sheet, everyone will always look to see how he shot the ball. Lonzo finished the game going 7-for-17 from the field and 4-for-10 from beyond the arc.
Down the stretch, Lonzo was able to hit some big shots for the Lakers to help them secure the win. As a young player, consistency is still an issue with Ball. However, he has been a very confident looking player the last two games, and it has resulted in wins.
Since the Lakers have a need for scoring with James out, Lonzo appears to be looking to step up a bit in that area. In a game where Brandon Ingram only scored eight points, Lonzo being aggressive on the offensive end was a welcomed sight once again.
