With Anthony Davis wanting out of New Orleans, there have been a lot of rumors surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers.
As the Los Angeles Lakers continue to try to hang on without LeBron James, there have been a lot of rumors surrounding the team. With Anthony Davis recently stating that he wants out of New Orleans, the Lakers have been linked already to the star.
In order to get a player like Davis, the Lakers would have to part ways with a good chunk of their young core. Over the past few years, the Lakers have done a very nice job of building this young core of talent.
When trade rumors start flying around, players aren’t blind to what they see on social media and that could take a toll on a young player. One of the members of the Lakers’ core didn’t shy away from the trade rumors, and actually took it in stride was Kyle Kuzma.
Recently, Kuzma was asked about being involved in trade rumors. Here’s what he had to say.
As a young player, this is a very mature response for Kuzma. As of now, Kuzma can make the argument that he is the best player of the young core of the Lakers. As a talented scorer, Kuzma has shown an ability to really thrive in the NBA.
Since Kuzma has done so well, the Pelicans would surely want him in part of a potential package that would be sent for Davis. While some players would take trade rumors as that his team doesn’t want him, Kuzma has gone with the mindset that he is valuable. After a strong rookie season and a good sophomore season, Kuzma is certainly a valuable player for the Lakers.
While we will have to wait and see what happens with all of the rumors before the trade deadline, Kuzma would almost certainly have to be one of the players sent in a trade for Davis. Hopefully, from now until then, he will continue to not let the rumors affect him.
