Despite all of the trade rumors surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers, Brandon Ingram is playing some of his best basketball of the season.

As we get closer to the NBA Trade Deadline, the Los Angeles Lakers have been a hot topic around the NBA. With the Lakers being linked to Anthony Davis, that has resulted in pretty much their entire young core being involved in rumors.

For young players, that is certainly not an easy thing to deal with, as moving cities is not an easy thing. However, the Lakers are trying their best to focus on the task at hand, and that is winning games.

Recently, the Lakers have been getting some great play from one of their young players, Brandon Ingram. It has not been an easy season for Ingram, as he missed time due to a suspension, and also to injury. However, despite the trade rumors, Ingram has been playing some great basketball of late.

Against the Philadelphia 76ers, Ingram had one of the best games of his career, as he totaled 36 points, five rebounds, and five assists. What was really amazing about his career-high in points was how efficiently he was able to accomplish it. Ingram went 16-for-20 from the field. Ingram also didn’t attempt a single three-pointer in that game, which is very odd to see a point total like that without making some three-pointers these days.

Against the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night, the Lakers saw the anticipated return of LeBron James. With James back, the Lakers were able to get a win. However, Ingram was able to play well alongside James, which is something that people have questioned.

In the win over the Clippers, Ingram totaled 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists in 44 minutes. Ingram was once again very efficient from the floor, as he went 7-for-12 from the field.

While it is a small sample size, Ingram looks a lot more comfortable in the last two games. He has been using his strong mid-range game along with driving to the basket to get himself easy opportunities. As the Lakers continue to try to push themselves back into the playoffs in the Western Conference, efficient games like these last two for Ingram will go a long way toward accomplishing that.
