The Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t keep up with the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night. Check out our lessons from the game.
It is getting really hard to analyze the Los Angeles Lakers with all of the drama that is going on behind the scenes over the last two weeks. It first started with the Luke Walton coaching seat being doused with lighter fluid with LeBron James’ camp “asking” for a coaching change.
Then Anthony Davis has an announcement heard all around the NBA world stating that he will not sing the super max with the Pelicans and wants a trade. All for the low rate of $50,000, the price for doing business, when Rich Paul released the statement. With that came the social media Lakers GM’s giving out combinations that the Pelicans should take.
Hilarious isn’t it? It gets better…
There is starting to be a trend going on based on when LeBron James plays in games or not. After reports were released that the Los Angeles Lakers would be without LeBron against the Clippers, an hour before the game, LeBron plays.
This game was the complete opposite. Most thought that LeBron James would play against the World Champion Golden State Warriors. Seemingly, even Luke Walton thought so based on his interview with Lisa Salters during the broadcast. How’s that great franchise player/head coach communication working out? The reason was that of “Load management” (also read…rest!) after playing over 40 minutes against the Clippers on Thursday. He also did not come to the bench and stayed in the locker room.
I watched that game, really?
LeBron James was ruled out about an hour before the game and it may have hurt the Lakers with a slow start especially if Walton’s game plan had James in mind.
The Lakers fell behind 7-0 before 30 seconds after the Warriors gave JaVale McGee his championship ring…
Two-time NBA champion JaVale McGee. Never forget.

and was down as many as 14 points before the Warriors took a nap and the Lakers got back in the game.
Moe Wagner of all people led the brigade with energy and passion and the Lakers got back in the game 63-58 by halftime.
The Lakers actually went ahead 71-69 off a dunk by Ivica Zubac and led by as much as 10 points in the third quarter 81-71. Then the Warriors woke up…
A slam dunk from Boogie Cousins over Kyle Kuzma sparked a 17-5 run that got the Warriors the lead back 88-86 by the end of the third quarter.
Then Steph Curry started knocking down 3-point shots as he does and the Warriors ran away on a 44-20 run to end the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers battled hard but lost 115-101. It seems that wasn’t the only battle going on in the Oracle…
As uncertainty surrounds Lakers into deadline week, several veterans -- including Michael Beasley -- had an emotionally-charged verbal exchange with head coach Luke Walton postgame tonight, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @WatchStadium. It stopped short of turning physical.

Here’s another side of the story from Ramona Shelburne.
Texted a few folks about whatever it was that happened in Lakers lockeroom tonight. One described it as typical lockeroom stuff & said, “It never got close to getting out of control, people are always emotional after a loss.”

I’m not sure about the Anthony Davis trade, but there probably needs to be a trade of some kind.
Does anyone want to revisit that Kevin Durant toxic situation a couple of months ago?
Let’s talk Lake Show Life lessons.
