Recent Lakers rumors are that LaVar Ball wants Lonzo Ball to be sent to the Phoenix Suns and not the New Orleans Pelicans.

There have been plenty of Lakers rumors the past few days, and there will likely be more as we get closer to Thursday.

Due to Anthony Davis becoming available in the trade market, the Lakers have been heavily linked to him. With a player of Davis’ caliber, the Lakers are going to have to give up a lot in order to trade for him.

One of the players that would likely be traded as part of a package for Davis would be Lonzo Ball. In his second season, Ball has shown the ability to be a talented player on the Lakers. As a point guard, Ball has excellent instincts for such a young player. In addition to being great at setting up teammates, Ball is also a great rebounder and defender.

While Ball has a lot of potential, the Pelicans already have Jrue Holiday at the point guard position. Holiday is a very good point guard in his own right, and having the two of them would make things crowded at the position for the Pelicans. However, if Davis was traded, the Pelicans could certainly look to move Holiday as well, and fully embrace the rebuild.

With Ball clearly being on the block, his father recently talked about where he would like Lonzo to go.

Phoenix certainly makes sense for Ball, as he would still be close to Los Angeles and would be the clear-cut point guard for the franchise. Ball would be a good fit for the Suns, but it would mean that a three-team deal would have to happen. The Suns and Lakers making a straight swap would be very unlikely, as the Lakers are clearly focused on getting Davis.
