The Los Angeles Lakers were unable to acquire Anthony Davis before the trade deadline. However, here are three reasons why they can still make the playoffs.
Despite a lot of rumors leading up to the trade deadline, the Los Angeles Lakers were not able to get a deal done with the New Orleans Pelicans for Anthony Davis.
While the Lakers certainly came in with good offers for Davis, the Pelicans clearly didn’t have a desire to give Davis what he wanted. The Lakers were offering up pretty much their entire young core for Davis, but even that wasn’t enough.
Davis is certainly a great player, but the asking price from the Pelicans was far too high to make a potential deal good for the Lakers. While they missed out on adding a second star to play with LeBron James, the Lakers still have games to play and a chance to end their playoff drought.
