– Still have LBJ
While getting another superstar would have been very nice, the Lakers fortunately have the luxury of already having one on their roster. While there has been a lot of panic about the recent play of the Lakers, the drop in the Western Conference standings was because of injuries.
Even though the Lakers are still going to be without Lonzo Ball for a while, they did get back LeBron James and Rajon Rondo. Having a healthy James gives the Lakers a chance to win every night in the NBA, and also a chance to beat nearly any team. If anyone is capable of willing a team to a playoff spot, its James.
While it was in the weaker Eastern Conference, James has reached the NBA Finals for eight straight seasons. That streak might come to an end this season, but the NBA Playoffs without LeBron this season would be shocking. As James continues to get healthy, the Lakers should once again start winning games.
Even though they might only be a 7th or 8th seed in the Western Conference, they should be able to sneak back into the playoffs with arguably the best player in the game. Barring another injury, James will keep his playoff streak alive.
