Los Angeles Lakers season saved by Rajon Rondo, sink Boston Celtics
By Ronald Agers
The Los Angeles Lakers pulled off a big come from behind victory over the Boston Celtics on Thursday night. Check out our lessons from the game!
Remember these words, Los Angeles Lakers fans. Rajon Rondo may have saved the season for the purple and gold. The Lakers went through the last two weeks of dysfunction, similar to the last five years, with the trade rumors, a 42 point rollover to the Indiana Pacers and…

The Los Angeles Lakers had vultures circling the franchise after the trade deadline. After much hype with the chase for Anthony Davis, the Lakers ended up flipping Svi Mykhailiuk and Ivica Zubac and Michael Beasley for Reggie Bullock, journeyman Mike Muscala and a freed up roster spot.
The Los Angeles Lakers are now the biggest chemistry experiment that I have to witness since high school. Meet the professor of the class, Rajon Rondo!
After the Lakers fell behind (yet again!) early by as much as 18 points on the road to the Boston Celtics, who came into the game on a tear, winning five straight and nine of their last ten, it looked like the blame game would be in full effect.
Would it be on Luke Walton, a coach that has been maligned all year-long? Would it be on the front office, who was criticized for the construction of the roster?
How about the young core, most notably Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma, who could still be resentful of being in trade rumors?
Or maybe LeBron James, who many believe brought all of this chaos to the franchise and will pull a patented passive aggressive approach for not landing Anthony Davis.
Rondo didn’t let any of it happen on this night.
With this shot, Rajon Rondo saved the season and possibly put Humpty Dumpty back together, pulling out the most improbable upset of the NBA season winning 129-128 at the buzzer. It was his first career go-ahead shot in the final 10 seconds of the 4th quarter or overtime.
Shooting wise in this game for the Lakers, it was the best of times and the worst of times.
The worst of times came at the free throw line. The Los Angeles Lakers are far and away just awful from the charity stripe. The Lakers shot only 7-of-18 from the line for just under 39 percent. That is bad enough for this team to really buckle down and figure out a way to fix this problem.
The best of times came at the 3-point line.
The Los Angeles Lakers had out-of-body experiences spread over the roster as they set a franchise record knocking down 22 3-point shots. Believe me, folks, they were important in crunch time with Kyle Kuzma and LeBron James hitting timely shots in the final minute.
This was a total team win being short-handed with all hands on deck contributing.
Let’s get to it with some Lake Show Life lessons!
