The Los Angeles Lakers victory over the Boston Celtics was a much-needed one for the city.

Wow, what a game we all saw from the Los Angeles Lakers against the Boston Celtics. It had highs and lows, anger and happiness, highlights and airballs, a Kentavious Caldwell-Pope falling out of bounds, contested corner 3 when we’re down six in the fourth quarter, and of course the buzzer beater. What else could you want!?

Well, actually, I would’ve loved if Brandon Ingram actually showed up to play but let’s not get into that (he actually had a couple great passes and some good plays down the stretch but I digress).

It was an incredible win for the Lakers, who now stand at a 28-27 record in 10th place trailing the Clippers for the 8th seed by two games. This win was huge for so many reasons. Some are very obvious, such as it was Lakers vs Celtics and Lebron vs Kyrie, but there are three things I want to highlight about last night’s win that I feel are paramount for the Lakers (and the city of Los Angeles as a whole) moving forward.

First off, I’m not going to really discuss the Rajon Rondo buzzer beater because, well what is there to say that isn’t already known by everyone who saw it? The shot was incredible.

For Rondo to be the one who makes it, in Boston, off a tipped rebound, I mean you can’t make this up. Like he in his postgame interview, “I always dream like this.” It was a great shot and thank you, Rondo. We love you and to quote you one more time, you said “I couldn’t picture it being this sweet,” well we all can, and that was sweet.

Now let’s discuss the 3 big takeaways from this game that are going to be huge for the Lakers moving forward.
