Despite having a good amount of talent on this team, the Los Angeles Lakers are not playing well. On Saturday, the Lakers were hoping to get a win against one of the worst teams in the league. However, the Phoenix Suns had other plans, as they pulled off the upset at home.
Surprisingly, playing against some of the worst teams in the league has been a real issue for the Lakers. They have lost games this season to the Suns, New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the New Orleans Pelicans.
As the Lakers sit outside of the playoffs right now, it is easy to understand why that is the case. On Saturday, the Lakers might have put the nail in the coffin for the playoff chances, as they lost to the Suns.

Kuzma is certainly right when saying that something is wrong with the Lakers. While they are still without Lonzo Ball, this is a team that should be beaten by teams like the Suns. However, the Lakers aren’t playing good basketball right now and it is resulting in losses.
After the loss, the Lakers now sit 4.5 games out of eighth place in the Western Conference. If they would have just beat some of the worst teams in the league, they would have a pretty good chance of making the playoffs despite all of the injuries.
However, this appears to be a broken team right now. Perhaps because of all the trade rumors not too long ago, the Lakers just simply haven’t been the same team they were at Christmas. With a decent amount of games left to play, the Lakers could turn it around. However, this appears to be a team that has given up and is ready for the offseason.
