With a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, the Los Angeles Lakers might have seen their season end. Here are a few takeaways from the loss.

The Los Angeles Lakers are done everyone. It’s over. Bad energy, bad shooting from the field and the free throw line, plus the fact that opposing teams can put their uniforms on the statues in front of the Staples Center knowing they can get into the paint and score. Bottom line, the Lakers right now can’t win a game.

The Lakers have now lost three in a row and four out of their last five.

The Los Angeles Lakers can do the NBA a favor and follow LeBron James’ lead and quit.

The Lakers lost the battle of Los Angeles to the Clippers 113-105 in a game the Lakers flat-out could not lose. Now the excuses for the last 18 games can begin. Maybe the excuses will be for the casual fans because the fans in the Staples Center were not having it as they booed LeBron James and the rest of the team off the floor. Patrick Beverley seemed to be in his element while all of this was going on.

The Clippers basically talked noise before the game and even backed up their comments.

Remember Ivica Zubac? He sure remembers the Lakers…

"“I can’t wait, I’m motivated. “They’re a dangerous team, they’re fighting for playoffs and this is a big game, one of the biggest games of the season for them, so we gotta come out ready, focused. We gotta play smart, we gotta know what we want to do, take away their things and we’ll be good.”"

To those that don’t remember this guy, he was the player that was traded to the Clippers along with Michael Beasley for Mike Muscala and to open a roster spot. The spot was believed by many to be waiting for Carmelo Anthony.

Umm…yeah. Forward all questions to Rob Pelinka and Magic Johnson for answering. Lake Show Life can’t answer this one. However, if you can explain this situation, please comment below. The Lakers were coming off a rock bottom performance against the Phoenix Suns while the Clippers blew out the New York Knicks. Both teams were under .500 but with different results.

The Lakers played without Brandon Ingram who suffered from shoulder soreness and by the time the game was over.

Kyle Kuzma was gone too, courtesy of an ankle injury.

The Lakers season ended with the Anthony Davis trade negotiations. Now the New Orleans Pelicans now have the same amount of wins as the Lakers.

In case anyone was wondering, now the Lakers are 5.5 games out of the final playoff spot. Outside of a miracle which is not going to happen, it’s over. Here are a few takeaways from the loss.
