3. LeBron decides that LA isn’t going to help him win and pushes to leave

LeBron has not hidden his displeasure at the culture of losing that has become the norm in Staples Center and rightfully so. His expectations are championship or bust and that is very much in line with what management wants and what we have come to expect as Lakers fans. The last time LeBron James was not in the playoffs was almost 14 years ago.

LeBron has reiterated that he is not chasing Michael Jordan’s ghost, that anything from now on is a bonus and not many people seem to be buying it. LeBron’s stats that surpass Jordan in numerous areas, with LeBron passing up Jordan in the all-time points leader board this past week. However, James won’t be considered the best until he matches Jordan’s 6 rings.

If he truly believes that the Lakers are not going to put him in the best position to win moving forward, then he could push to move on to a better situation.

This actually wouldn’t be the worst thing to happen to the Lakers. LeBron obviously wouldn’t be able to go for free, as he is under contract for the next three seasons, so trading him is the only option.

Even at 34 years old, LeBron would fetch a Kings Ransom. Teams such as the Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers and even the Boston Celtics would have enough ammunition to have a chance at landing LeBron.
