On Sunday night, the Los Angeles Lakers were able to get a win over the Sacramento Kings. Here are a few takeaways from the win.

The Los Angeles Lakers are playing out the string after the Brooklyn Nets officially eliminated them from playoff contention on Friday. Now the chatter with LeBron James having a minutes restriction is now about the Lakers tanking the season for a high draft pick. To be totally honest, after that humiliating loss to the New York Knicks exactly one week ago, I didn’t think the Lakers had to  “tank” because the team was stinking up the NBA, riding a five-game losing streak.

But the Lakers true to form, when the world thinks they have this team figured out, they come out with performances like these. A total team effort led by LeBron James playing on both ends of the court.

The Los Angeles Lakers rode LeBron James’ 81st triple-double of his career winning 115-106 over the Sacramento Kings.  Now the casual Lakers fans can start complaining about winning the game because of draft position, but real fans should be excited over the team effort which at times was just non-existent.

LeBron James had a take on playing out the string for the rest of the season…

Maybe LeBron watched the University of Central Florida and Duke game where Zion Williamson carried his team to a close win that went down to the final second. Maybe he sees the future of the NBA and the love affair that every non-playoff team, including his own team has for his services. Basketball fans see the joy that he has while playing with his teammates and compares him to the sulking distancing of James playing with his.

In other words, Zion Williamson will have a significant space in the NBA next year and LeBron James will have to make room.

While we are discussing LeBron James, how did he do?
