Recently, Luke Walton praised Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso as someone that can be an NBA player.

The Los Angeles Lakers might have had a disappointing season, but there are still players that are playing for their futures in the NBA.

One of the players that is making the most of the Lakers giving extra time to their younger players is Alex Caruso. Caruso has now been with the Lakers for two years, as he was on a two-way deal with the Lakers last season in addition to this season.

Due to injuries at the point guard position the last two seasons, Caruso has played a good amount in the NBA. Since Lonzo Ball has struggled to stay healthy the last two years, it has been Caruso getting a bunch of extra time in the NBA.

So far this season, Caruso has played in just 16 games, but he has certainly been playing a lot more of late. Recently, Luke Walton talked about being impressed with Caruso. Despite having an off night against the Sacramento Kings, he still was able to find ways to contribute. This was something that he was pleased to see. Here’s what he said to Matthew Moreno of LakersNation.com.

"“That’s what you want out of your guys that are going to play. If you’ve got something you can always hang your hat on no matter what’s going on out there, then you’re going to help your team. And he does that.”"

While there have been some good games and bad games for Caruso, his numbers in March are pretty good. In 22.9 minutes per game, Caruso is averaging 9.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. During that stretch, Caruso has been a pretty reliable from three-point range, as he has shot it at over 40 percent.

As the season wraps up, Caruso is a player that should continue to get a good amount of minutes for the Lakers. Since Caruso is a young player, he is certainly bringing a lot of energy when he plays to prove himself to not only the Lakers but other teams that he belongs.
