Los Angeles Lakers: Reasons to keep Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball
Brandon Ingram’s leadership and scoring
Whenever the Lakers are in a drought, you could always count on Brandon Ingram to emerge out of nowhere to make an important play.
The small forward from Duke averaged 27.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in his final six games of the year before being ruled out for the season with an injury. Those numbers are beyond ignorable, and Ingram even had a heroic game in the past month where he started 12 out of 12 from the field.
The greatest part of Ingram’s game is his willingness to lead the team, which includes his fearless ability to take the last shot. His talent is no longer in question; the only discussion is whether the Lakers will keep the slender slasher.
The most important part about keeping these key players is the fact that D’Angelo Russell and Julius Randle, whom the Lakers departed with, are both averaging over 19 points per game. Now, it seems as if this young trio of Lakers will emerge as solid players – even as All-Stars.
