Los Angeles Lakers: 5 biggest disappointments in 2018-19 season
5. Another losing season
One of the worst parts about the Lakers’ season is that it extended one of the worst losing streaks for the Lakers in the history of the team’s franchise. The past five years have been a disgrace for the Lakers as they have missed the playoffs in each season. Lakers fans are not used to losing, and no one else in the NBA is used to the Lakers losing this much either.
Hopefully, the Lakers can bounce back from this horrid 2013-2019 losing season streak and never be back here again. They’ve never been here before as this is the first time in team history that they have missed the postseason for six straight years. This one probably hurts the most out of the past five seasons because we had a prime superstar leading us.
In all fairness, it’s only right that the Lakers finally hit rock bottom after spending the last 50 years winning. We served our time, and now it’s time to start winning again.
The Lakers have missed the playoffs for the past half-decade mainly because of bad luck and injuries. With the passing of Jerry Buss, the team struggled to find direction until it found Magic Johnson who provided somewhat of a spark in free agency.
With injuries From Kobe Bryant tearing his Achilles to LeBron straining his groin and missing 18 games, the Lakers have been prevented from making the playoffs.
