After another injury-plagued season, here is the 2018-19 season grade for Los Angeles Lakers point guard, Lonzo Ball.

Coming into the 2018-19 season, the Los Angeles Lakers had a lot of expectations for the team. The signing of LeBron James made them a contender to compete in the Western Conference on paper. However, for a few reasons, they did not reach their goals.

One of the players that were hoping to have a big season was Lonzo Ball. The Lakers selected Ball with the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. There was a lot of hype surrounding Ball coming into the NBA thanks to some bold claims by his father. While Ball wasn’t better than Stephen Curry as a rookie, he did have a solid season overall.

The one main criticisms about Ball was his shooting in his rookie season. However, he also was a bit injury-prone. Unfortunately, he was in his second year as well. This season, Ball played in just 47 games, which was less than he did in his rookie season.

Getting used to playing with players like Rajon Rondo, LeBron James, and Brandon Ingram took some time to adjust for Lonzo, but like last season, when he really looked like he was coming on, he got hurt.

One of the positives for Ball this offseason is that he will be able to get healthy and have a strong summer of working out. This was something that he didn’t have coming into this season. With a good summer, Ball should be able to have a strong third season. However, let’s take a look back on his second season.
