Lakers Rumors: Tyronn Lue set for second interview with Los Angeles

Recent Lakers rumors are that Los Angeles plans to hold their second interview with Tyronn Lue on Wednesday.

It has certainly been a busy beginning to the offseason for the Los Angeles Lakers. With a lot of things going on in L.A., there have been plenty of Lakers rumors. As of now, most of those rumors have been about the head coaching search.

Even though the Lakers are without a president of basketball operations, they have been moving forward with their search for a new head coach. So far, it looks like Tyronn Lue, Monty Williams, and Jason Kidd are options to fill the position.

This is a very important offseason for the Lakers and finding a good head coach to lead LeBron James and the young core will be important. After going through some interviews already, the Lakers are reportedly preparing to meet with Lue once again.

As a head coach that is familiar with LeBron and won a championship with James in Cleveland, Lue is certainly a viable option for the Lakers. Seeing Lue getting a second interview should come as no surprise, as the Lakers will be looking to get to know him a bit better.

With the Phoenix Suns recently firing their head coach, this could expedite the process for the Lakers a bit. The Suns are reportedly interested in Monty Williams, and them throwing their hat in the ring might force the Lakers to make a decision quicker than they originally expected.

Since the Lakers don’t have a president of basketball operations, it looks like Rob Pelinka will be playing a big role in the decision making when it comes to finding the next head coach. With this being the second interview for Lue, Jeanie Buss is expected to be involved as well.

Lue will be bringing a strong resume into the interview, but there are concerns that he simply benefited from coaching LeBron. Since Lue is getting his second interview, we might be getting closer to the Lakers making a decision on a new head coach.
