Recent Lakers rumors have been about who the next head coach of the team will be. However, no offer has been made to anyone yet according to reports.

With the NBA Playoffs in full swing, recent Lakers rumors have been about who the team will be hiring to be their next head coach. As many expected, the Lakers and Luke Walton parted ways after the season, leaving a vacancy at the position.

Even though the Lakers had a disappointing season this year, there are some very appealing things about the team. With LeBron James, a strong young core, cap space, and a lottery pick, the Lakers are in a good position to make some noise next season.

So far, it appears like Tyronn Lue and Monty Williams are the two front-runners for the coaching job. The Lakers have met with both of them twice, but according to Brad Turner of the LA Times, no offer has been made yet to either of them.

"Neither Williams nor Lue were offered the job and neither was given a timetable on when the Lakers will make their decision, said the people who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter."

Seeing the Lakers not rush this process is certainly encouraging. With no president of basketball operations, Jeanie Buss has had a lot of people involved in the coaching search. Rob Pelinka has been leading the way, but he has had help from Kurt Rambis and Linda Rambis.

While in a perfect world, the Lakers would have more experience in their front office leading the coaching search, the Lakers appear to be very attentive in the interview process.

Finding a new coach is a big decision for the franchise to make. With six straight seasons of missing the playoffs, Buss wants to make sure that the next man she hires will help get the job done.

The Lakers should be a fairly desirable situation for a head coach if they are able to handle some of the pressure that coaching in Los Angeles and coaching LeBron can bring. With no timetable of when an offer will be made to a potential head coach, we will have to continue to wait and see.
