If Tyronn Lue becomes the next head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, what can we expect from the partnership between him and LeBron James?

While nothing is official yet, it appears like Tyronn Lue is going to be the next coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. After a disappointing 2018-19 season, the Lakers are going to be a team that is poised to bounce back next season.

LeBron James will be in uncharted waters next season, as he will be looking to get back into the NBA Playoffs after missing it this season. The injury to James on Christmas Day really ended the Lakers season, as they were unable to keep their heads above water without him.

Now with Luke Walton coaching the Sacramento Kings after parting ways with the Lakers, the Lakers have turned to Tyronn Lue. Throughout the interview process, it looked like it the Lakers were going to be hiring either Lue or Monty Williams. Since Monty Williams went to the Phoenix Suns, everyone is expecting Lue to become the head coach of the Lakers soon.

With it being anticipated that Lue will be the next coach of the Lakers, this means that James will be reunited with his former coach. As a coach that has won an NBA Championship, Lue doesn’t seem to get the credit that others who have accomplished that receive.

With James in Cleveland, Lue was the coach that helped beat the Golden State Warriors and brought a championship to Cleveland with James. James and Lue went to the NBA Finals every year that they were together, and that is an extremely impressive feat. While James gets a lot of the credit for that, Lue obviously played a part as the head coach.

As a head coach in the NBA, Lue has a coaching record of 128-83 in the regular season. In the playoffs, Lue has a record of 41-20. Unfortunately for Lue and James, they were defeated two years in a row by the Golden State Warriors, but going against a dynasty like the Warriors is no easy task.

With a reunion in Los Angeles, Lue and James will be hoping to reach the NBA Finals once again. The Lakers have a strong chance of improving the team this summer, and they could have the talent to pressure the Warriors next season, especially if Kevin Durant leaves.

A lot will need to happen this summer for the Lakers, but this is certainly a team that should make the playoffs next season. Hopefully, the reunion of Lue and James will bring success like they had in Cleveland.
