The Los Angeles Lakers have clear needs heading into the offseason. Re-signing Reggie Bullock will fill some of those needs and these are three reasons Bullock should be brought back.

Just prior to this season’s trading deadline, the Los Angeles Lakers acquired off guard Reggie Bullock from the Detroit Pistons. Although he was somewhat invisible for much of his brief time with the team, he established himself as a real candidate to remain with the purple and gold.

On February 6, 2019, the Lakers traded rookie Svi Mykhailiuk, a non-producing bench player who was only getting spot duty, for Reggie Bullock. Bullock is a six-year vet who was in his fourth season in Detroit and has been known as a 3-point sniper. In the last three seasons, he shot a terrific 43 percent from downtown.

As a Laker, he had his ups and downs in the 19 games he was on the court. He did have a six-game shooting slump in early March, which explains his lower-than-usual 34.3 percent shooting percentage from behind the arc, but we must remind ourselves that those 19 games were a small sample space. Other than that slump, Bullock proved that he’s still a dependable outside shooter.

While most of Lakers Nation is thinking about signing a big-name free agent and trading for Anthony Davis this summer, it will also be vital for them to fill out the rest of the team with quality role players.

Why should Bullock be one of those role players?
