Recent Lakers rumors are that they are moving on in their search for a new head coach.

Just a few days ago, it appeared like Tyronn Lue was all set to become the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. However, recent Lakers rumors are that they are now moving on from Lue, after the two sides didn’t appear to be close regarding a contract.

The situation with Lue is another failure of late for the Lakers, who appear to be one of the most dysfunctional organizations in the NBA. With the team reportedly moving on from Lue, they now need to find a new person to hire as their head coach.

According to Brad Turner, Frank Vogel will be the next man to interview with the Lakers.

In the initial interview process, the Lakers looked at four candidates. Monty Williams went to the Phoenix Suns, Lue has apparently taken his name out of consideration, and there’s been no word on whether or not Juwan Howard or Jason Kidd will be considered once again now with the job open.

Since the Lakers are once again opening up the interviewing process, that doesn’t bode well for Howard or Kidd in terms of becoming the next head coach. However, the list of candidates for the job isn’t looking all that good.

With Vogel being the next man to interview, the Lakers will be taking a look at someone who has had some success in the NBA. As the head coach of the Indiana Pacers, Vogel did a nice job with that team, as they battled against the Miami Heat and LeBron James in the Eastern Conference.

As the head coach of the Pacers, Vogel had a record of 250-181 and was 31-30 in the playoffs. Compared to the rest of the candidates that the Lakers will be interviewing in this second wave, Vogel might be the top option. While Vogel did have success in Indiana, he wasn’t able to with the Orlando Magic most recently.

For the Lakers, they need to find some stability and get this ship on the right course. After the debacle with Lue, Jeanie Buss needs to reevaluate who she is listening to and fix what has become a dysfunctional franchise.
