Recent Lakers rumors are that trading LeBron James could be on the table for the Los Angeles Lakers.

After getting Tyronn Lue to become their next head coach fell apart, there have been a ton of Lakers rumors recently. With the franchise now in turmoil after failing to get Lue, the wheels look they are completely falling off for the Lakers.

Without a head coach or a president of basketball operations, the Lakers have fallen apart of late. Now, recent rumors are that pretty much everything is on the table for the Lakers. Stephen A Smith of ESPN recently spoke about the possibility of trading LeBron James. Here’s what Smith had to say about the situation.

Even the thought of trading James right now seems absolutely ridiculous for the Lakers. Last summer, adding James was one of the biggest moves that the Lakers were able to make in recent years.

While James was hurt for a good chunk of the season, he is still one of the best players in the league, and is very capable of leading this team back into the playoffs next season. However, the Lakers have become extremely dysfunctional now.

Jeanie Buss seems to be listening to the wrong people if they are recommending her to trade James. While James is not a spring chicken anymore, he is still one of the best players in the league.

Trading James one year after signing him to save the franchise would send an awful message to the rest of the league and potential free agents. If these rumors are true, you can bet another superstar won’t be coming to Los Angeles as a free agent anytime soon.

Hopefully, the Lakers wise up and these rumors about potentially trading James are just rumors. What the Lakers really need to do is get a good president of basketball operations and fix this mess.
