Los Angeles Lakers: Why they just won’t hire Tyronn Lue

I did a piece a month ago explaining in great detail why Jason Kidd should stay as far from the Lakers organization as humanly possible. But I have to admit that Jason Kidd is playing the corporate game that will keep you employed within the Lakers organization these days.
Shut up, nod your head and smile while the chaos is ongoing.
How do you think Rob Pelinka kept his job as GM of the Lakers? I mean think about it, have you heard one quote from him since Magic Johnson resigned as President of Basketball Operations? All those reports of Pelinka’s relationships throughout the NBA, have you heard a peep out of the Lakers front office where he allegedly has control?
Exactly. That’s how Jason Kidd is going to be the next coach if the Lakers continue this madness. The Lakers reportedly wanted Jason Kidd to be a part of the coaching staff to “develop” the young players like the “Greek Freak” Giannis Antetokounmpo in his tenure with the Milwaukee Bucks. Many players have lauded Kidd’s program in making them better players.
That sounds good on the surface being the best case scenario, so let’s flip the script and look at the flip side and check out the worst.
Jason Kidd can be on the staff a lay in waiting candidate while Ty Lue is the fall guy. Then Kidd can take over without any backlash. Ty Lue knows how this scenario works because…that was the plan in Cleveland.
Years back, the Cleveland Cavaliers were going through the same situation as the Lakers are now. The GM at the time David Griffin wanted Ty Lue to take over as head coach of the team while the owner, Dan Gilbert wanted David Blatt. Griffin handed Lue the largest assistant coach contract at the time to keep him. When things started to go south with Blatt, Ty Lue was immediately inserted in as his replacement just as Griffin wanted in the first place.
Lakers fans, it’s time to talk about LeBron James’ future.
