With the franchise looking like a mess, fans of the Los Angeles Lakers are planning a protest.

The Los Angeles Lakers have brought so much drama for the media, their fans and possibly Las Vegas to speculate on the current status of the “second” team in Los Angeles. Even though the Lakers do not have their draft position from the NBA lottery yet and the free agent chase doesn’t start until July, the Lakers find new and inventive ways to stay in the news.

Since the Lakers have been realistically out of the playoff chase since Rajon Rondo’s jumper in Boston, you would think this franchise would keep a low profile based on the embarrassing display they put on this year.

Well, this is not your Dr. Jerry Buss Lakers. To be honest, this isn’t even your Jim Buss Lakers at this point. Well the Lakers Nation is tired of it and reportedly will take it to the streets.

On Friday morning according to AM570LASports, the fans actually plan to stage a protest outside the Staples Center over the complete dysfunction of the team and front office direction (Or lack thereof!). There are supposed to be two separate protests over the weekend.

I’m really not trying to make light of this considering that the “real” Lakers fanbase do deserve better than the dumpster fire that seemingly send up explosions almost on a weekly basis. But the fact there are some saying that the protest should be in front of the Lakers practice facility in El Segundo does show that nothing can be done these days without someone complaining.

There is actually a Redditor page giving out information about CHANTS to be used during the rally! (Writer’s note: There is adult language on it…please be aware!) Here’s  a list of chants that will be used…

Chants:

“Sell the team!”

“Fire Rambis!”

“Fire Linda!”

“Kevin McHale” (Ironic, I know)

“No Jason Kidd!”

“Shadow Owner!”

If this protest does happen (For some reason, I don’t think fans got the heart…) I have found a new-found respect for Los Angeles Lakers fans. Based on the Redditor page, the protest is to publicly humiliate Jeanie Buss, who hates bad publicity. That really does add to the comedy of the situation considering the continuous missteps that the Lakers have executed since February.

That’s about four months folks. I mean the collapse here is monumental.

I have to give whoever made this list of chants credit. KEVIN McHALE? You have to be a real fan to connect that chant to this situation…

Remember when the Lakers beat down the Golden State Warriors on Christmas night? At that time, the Lakers were 4th in the Western Conference, a game and a half out of the top spot. The media jumped on the Lakers bandwagon then with predictions of the Western Conference Finals.

The only problem was that LeBron James went down with a “groin injury” and Rajon Rondo broke his hand. Looking back, the waves of the Pacific Ocean rolled over the Lakers sand castle. Lake Show Life has been over the constant drama that followed after that so much, why bring it all up again.

It will be interesting to see how LeBron James reacts to all of this considering the final straw was the Lakers botching up the Ty Lue negotiations. Anyway, LeBron James should be used to gatherings like these anyway. It seems the Cleveland Browns carried their protest a few years earlier…

This was when LeBron James was stringing together NBA Finals appearances with the Cavaliers. Of course he had to put his two cents worth according to The Athletic.

Well, LeBron…I wouldn’t give the Lakers faithful any ideas. How about they boycott the Lakers until the team makes two playoff appearances in a row? LeBron James thinks he’s being smart staying away from the fracas with the passive-aggressive tendencies, only making statements these days on his social media platforms. I hope he knows he’s next on the rally cry list.

Well, I guess he can talk about this rally on the next episode of “The Shop”.

Here’s the Details:

Friday @ 12:00 PM, In front of Staples Center – Saturday @ 12:00PM

We will be holding a protest to garner ESPN Media Coverage. Voicing our displeasure of the front office.

Why? Jeannie hates bad PR. She don’t care about us, but cares what the media says. Point is to spin the narrative to the Talking Heads “Is Jeannie the opposite of her Father?” and have them talk.

Bring Laker Gear, byo chairs & Water.

On a serious note, even though this article has been done “tongue in cheek”, Lake Show Life would like to remind everyone that is participating in this rally stay safe. Please no fighting, shooting, anything that would bring harm or cause a bad scene. State your case, have fun and enjoy yourselves.

Next. 3 Reasons Frank Vogel is a good option. dark

In the end, all this is about basketball. This is entertainment. It’s cool to be a passionate fan base, let’s just not be a stupid one.
