Lakers Rumors: Los Angeles met with Cam Reddish of Duke
By Nick Ziegler
Recent Lakers rumors are that Los Angeles has already met with Cam Reddish of Duke with the NBA Draft quickly approaching.
With the NBA Lottery all set, recent Lakers rumors have been about who the team will be targeting with the 4th overall pick.
To the surprise of many, the Lakers caught a huge break during the NBA Lottery. Despite not having very good odds to get into the Top 5, the Lakers ended up with the 4th overall pick.
This pick will have a lot of value for the Lakers, as they will be able to either package it in a trade for a player, or continue to add to their young core. With the first two picks of the NBA Draft likely set in stone, the Lakers will have a lot of options if they are on the clock at four.
According to Tania Ganguli, the Lakers have already met with one of the players that are going to be in their range.
It is certainly good to see the Lakers already meeting with prospects, however, Cam Reddish might not be the guy they want to target.
Reddish was the third star that Duke brought in last year, and he was by far the least impressive of the three. Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett will both be selected in the Top 5, and while Reddish appears like he will be selected in the Top 10, he didn’t do a lot at Duke to deserve that.
In his freshman season, Reddish averaged 13.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. However, his shooting numbers were awful. From the field, Reddish shot 35.6 percent, and from three-point range he shot it at 33.3 percent.
Despite the poor season at Duke, Reddish is still projected to be one of the top prospects selected in the draft. While we will have to see how he does in his workouts, Reddish certainly didn’t impress in his one season at Duke.
