-Will bring a defensive mindset

Over the past few seasons under Luke Walton, we have seen the Lakers make some strides on the defensive end of the court. Since Walton came from Golden State, he understood the importance of being a strong defensive team. While Golden State has the reputation of being a great offensive team, a lot of their success on that end of the court comes from what they do on the defensive end.

The Lakers were one of the better defensive teams in the league to start the season last year. However, the injuries to the roster and key players ended up ruining the Lakers on the defensive end. Losing Lonzo Ball appeared to be the biggest loss on the defensive end. Despite being just a second-year player, Ball has emerged as one of the top defensive guards in the league.

With Vogel being the head coach, the Lakers will likely be able to become a good defensive team once again. There is a lot of talent on the Lakers, and that talent can play on the defensive end of the court as well. As shown in Indiana, Vogel is a very good defensive coach, as the Pacers were one of the best defensive teams in the league under him.
