With new head coach Frank Vogel in place, the focus for the Los Angeles Lakers now turns to player acquisitions and/or trades for the next few months. There seems to be a definite pathway towards quickly building a championship caliber squad.
It’s just about time to watch what the Lakers do this offseason to change and improve their roster so that they can get back to their accustomed position at or near the top of the NBA. There’s a lot of trepidation about what they can and will do to accomplish that, but things are not nearly as bad as they seem.
Between Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma, they have a really solid and promising core of young blue chippers. They will have the number four pick in next month’s NBA Draft. And, of course, they have a guy who’s still arguably the best player in the game, albeit at 34 years of age.

If the NBA’s resident “flat earther” does indeed join the team, the Lakers can quickly become a championship caliber team this upcoming season. All it should take are a couple of simple (but not necessarily easy) steps.
