4. He’s a good rebounder

As former Laker coach Pat Riley used to say, no rebounds, no rings.

Randle would give the team a rugged big man who can help them limit teams to one shot. He may not be the second coming of Dennis Rodman, but he is really strong in that department.

He could take the load off of LeBron James, which is really important as the self-proclaimed king is now 34 years of age. At this point of his career, the Lakers need to lessen LeBron’s workload and responsibilities so that he can focus more on scoring and hitting the open man, which are his primary skills.

Randle would also help as a rebounder because he has the ability to grab the defensive board and start the fast break himself, a truly unique skill for a man his size. That’s another responsibility he can relieve LeBron of at times to keep him fresh and healthy for the playoffs and future seasons.
