There have been plenty of Los Angeles Lakers rumors involving 2019 NBA Draft prospects. In this piece, we take a look at Texas Tech guard, Jarrett Culver.

Lake Show Life continues its in-depth NBA Draft coverage which has been placed squarely in the Lakers rumors section of the site.

Why? Because at this point no one knows where who is going to go outside of Zion Williamson, who is being drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans first overall. Then we have Ja Morant, who will be selected by the Memphis Grizzlies at the number two pick.

After that…nobody really knows. All we can tell you is that the New York Knicks have the third pick in the draft and the consensus has R.J. Barrett as the third selection. But the New York Knicks have their eyes on other players as well.

Could Jarrett Culver be that guy the Knicks covet? Reports have been growing that Jarrett Culver may be the guy that the New York Knicks need now that the Zion sweepstakes are over.

David Fizdale is a defense first guy. Maybe Barrett is not a foregone conclusion.

"“Our defense won’t really get to where it’s at until we start to really fill in the gaps with the type of guys we think can take our defense to the next level,’’ Fizdale said. “Add maybe another forward defender or another perimeter defender that has a reputation for that. Those kind of guys are the ones that elevate your system to the next level. We’ve already started on the idea of the type of players we want and type of defense we want to play."

This is why Lake Show Life has provided full coverage of every option the Lakers have when they select No. 4 in the NBA Draft on June 20th. Until the Knicks make their pick, everything up to this point will be put on the Lakers rumors pile.

First, it was rumored that Darius Garland would be the 4th pick in the ESPN mock draft during the lottery.

Then Garland was given a “reported” promise at the NBA Draft combine and left early.

Since then, things have changed. Now the mock drafts have De’Andre Hunter listed as the Lakers selection in the upcoming draft. But this all stems on who the Knicks select at No. 3. Will it be R.J. Barrett or Jarrett Culver?

Lake Show Life gave the Lakers fans a 2 for 1 sale combining the analysis of both of Zion’s teammates at Duke, Barrett and Cam Reddish. Reddish is yet another player that have sneaked into the conversation of possibilities.

As with De’Andre Hunter, Jarrett Culver plays the wing position. It just happens to be a position the Lakers are loaded at with Kyle KuzmaBrandon Ingram and LeBron James. Now, the Lakers will be making the franchise altering decision of drafting for need or the “best player available”.

With the Los Angeles Lakers chasing everyone on LeBron James‘ recruitment list, this pick could be made for another team on draft night for a potential trade. But until then, add it to the Lakers rumors pile.

Now let’s take a look at the guy that is turning into the “enigma” or X-factor of the NBA Draft.

Introducing Jarrett Culver.
