Despite the drama surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers, Adam Silver believes Jeanie Buss will get things on the right track.

It has not been an easy past few months for Jeanie Buss and the Los Angeles Lakers. With somewhat high expectations this season, the Lakers fell short of reaching the playoffs once again.

While the roster might not have been rounded out as it should have after the signing of LeBron James, the Lakers did have the firepower necessary to still make the playoffs. However, injuries throughout the year really derailed the franchise.

Even though the injuries really hurt the Lakers, it was the drama and the rumors that really killed them. The leaked Anthony Davis trade rumors really had a big effect on the Lakers, as the reports were that they were nearly offering up everyone to get him.

Since the season has ended, things have not gotten easier for the Lakers. There was a lot of drama between Rob Pelinka and Magic Johnson. Also, the handling of the Tyronn Lue situation was poor.

Despite things being a mess in Los Angeles, Adam Silver believes that Jeanie Buss will be able to get things under control. Here’s what Silver said on ESPN’s Get Up via Malika Andrews

"“I know Jeanie knows how to manage a team,” Silver said Wednesday morning in a wide-ranging interview on ESPN’s Get Up. “Sure, when things start to go wrong, a lot of fingers get pointed. But they’ll figure it out.”"

Even though things have been dysfunctional for the Lakers, there are a lot of positives in the franchise right now. They still have LeBron, they lucked out and got the fourth pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, and they also have a lot of cap space this summer.

However, Buss must find a way to bring stability to the franchise. The drama between Pelinka and Johnson was a bad look for the franchise, and one that certainly didn’t need to become as public as it did.

This will be a huge offseason for the Lakers. They need to create stability in their franchise, and that starts with Buss. Hopefully, she will be able to lead the franchise through this difficult storm.
