Los Angeles Lakers guard, Josh Hart, recently spoke about him wanting to see the Lakers become a superteam.

With the NBA Draft and free agency quickly approaching for the Los Angeles Lakers, there is going to be a lot of buzz surrounding the team. The Lakers currently hold the fourth overall pick in the draft this season, and that provides the team with a very valuable asset.

Whether or not they use to the pick to add to their young core, or trade it to get a proven player remains to be seen. In addition to the Top 5 pick, the Lakers also have enough cap space to pursue a max player.

This a very strong free agency class and the Lakers are hoping to pair another star next to LeBron James. Recently, Josh Hart spoke about the Lakers becoming a superteam this summer. Here’s what he had to say on The Eavesdrop Podcast with text via SilverScreenAndRoll.com.

"S—, I hope we get a couple free agents. I hope we get a super team or some s—. I hope we get, s—, Jimmy, Kyrie. There’s no tampering for the players, so s—, I hope we get Jimmy, Kyrie… Just imagine if we had that. Like bro, and the thing is, all those dudes are good dudes, so everyone would sacrifice for each other. And people don’t realize, when everyone sacrifices and the team wins at the end of the day, that’s the biggest thing.”"

The Lakers are certainly capable of adding a star like Kyrie Irving or Jimmy Butler this offseason, as they will have cap space for one player of that caliber. While Irving and Butler likely aren’t the top two choices for the Lakers, either of them would be a good partner for LeBron.

Irving and LeBron have already won a title together in Cleveland. Despite them having a bit of falling out there, it seems like the two sides have patched things up. As for Butler, he would provide the Lakers with a strong two-way player that doesn’t need the ball in his hands to be successful.

After a disappointing 2018-19 season, the Lakers will be hoping to snap their playoff drought next season. Adding a player like Irving or Butler would certainly give the Lakers a roster that is capable of making some noise in the Western Conference.
