In his first two seasons in the league, the Los Angeles Lakers’ Lonzo Ball has shown promise in some aspects of the game but has also shown some great deficiencies in other departments.

In some ways, Lonzo Ball is a polarizing player for Los Angeles Lakers fans. We’ve always known about his unique talents as a passer and facilitator, as well as his great ability to uptempo the game.

We’ve also been impressed with his abilities at the defensive end, where he quickly established himself as one of the best in the league at his position at that end of the floor.

But make no mistake, there are some real concerns about the former UCLA star point guard.

In my opinion, he didn’t really show any measurable improvement this season. He did have a bit of a spurt in January before he suffered his season-ending ankle injury, but it wasn’t a super substantial improvement that caused people around the league to raise their eyebrows.

Traditionally, a player’s third season in the league has been the one where they more or less really start to become whoever they will be the rest of the way. It is the season where the die will be cast, so to speak, if it hasn’t been already.

Therefore, the 2019-20 season will be a make or break year for Lonzo Ball for the following reasons. Without further ado, let’s start the list.
