Lakers Rumors: Tacko Fall is scheduled for a workout with the Lakers
By Ronald Agers
His offense is very limited; think a more athletic Roy Hibbert
Look, Roy Hibbert played in the NBA for years, so again, Tacko Fall can make a way in the NBA with his measurements and hard work. Tacko Fall finished his NCAA career with the highest field goal percentage ever.
To put this perspective, Fall could have missed 63 straight shots and still kept the record. Now, what does that mean?
Dude is taller than everyone else and he dunks a lot.

I may be aging myself here, but he brings back memories of kids dunking on that Dr. J goal stores used to sell back in the day. To the younger readers out there, the updated version was those Nerf basketball goals that you hang on the door.
But there are more aspects to NBA basketball. The question now is can Tacko Fall shoot the basketball in an empty gym. His free throw shooting is already heavily chronicled.
Last year, Tacko shot 36% from the free throw line (59-163 for those scoring at home). What’s even worse, that is 10% worse than the season before. This has to improve for any team to find a roster spot for him no matter how tall he is. The “Hack-A-Shaq” strategy was used at times during the season and it kept Fall off the floor late in games.
Another question to look at is Tacko Fall’s ability to keep pace in today’s NBA. Fall only had four points in transition in over 800 minutes on the floor. What does that tell scouts? Fall is slow afoot and can’t run the fast break. If the Lakers take him and ask for rebounds and quick outlets, cool no problem. But if he is asked to do more, this is a red flag.
As for passing out of a double team? Ugh! Tacko Fall had 50 assists in 115 career games.
What should the Los Angeles Lakers do?
If he is not drafted on draft night, the Los Angeles Lakers would be smart to put him on the summer league team and check him out. If not, they will see him in the summer on another team. He’s impressed scouts that much in the tryouts.
The draft is a fluid situation and a lot of information (truth and rumors) will be floating around. Keep it locked to the number one source for Los Angeles Lakers draft coverage.
