Recent Lakers rumors are that they really liked what they saw from Jarrett Culver in his workout.
With the NBA Draft quickly approaching, there have been plenty of Lakers rumors about who they will be going after with the fourth overall pick.
The Lakers certainly lucked out by getting the fourth pick in the draft, as they didn’t have very good odds in the lottery to move up that far. While they won’t be in the mix for Zion Williamson, they should be able to get a pretty talented young player.
One of the players that the Lakers have had their eyes on is shooting guard Jarrett Culver, from Texas Tech. Culver was the best player on a Texas Tech team that made it all the way to the Championship Game of the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
Despite Texas Tech falling just short of winning the title, Culver emerged as a great player. According to Eric Pincus, the Lakers have liked what they have seen from him.
Lakers really liked Culver in his workout, don't see a promise, especially when the pick is available if the Pelicans want it. Not saying Culver over Garland but that was a serious look at JC

There is certainly a lot to like about Culver on both ends of the floor as he gets ready to enter the NBA. Last season, Culver averaged 18.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. Considering Texas Tech didn’t play at a very quick pace, these are really solid numbers on that end of the court for Culver.
On the defensive end of the court, Culver was a very strong player and part of one of the best defenses in the country.
Culver didn’t shoot the three-ball as well as he did in his freshman season at Texas Tech, as he went from a 38 percent shooter to a 30 percent shooter. Hopefully, that would be something that he is able to get back closer to his freshman year production.
With the top two picks in the draft likely set, the Lakers will have a good chance of seeing Culver still available when they are on the clock. We will have to wait and see what happens leading up to the draft, but Culver appears to be near the top of their draft board.
